Milwaukee Seedsowers Ministry Announcement

Psalm 26:7 That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all Your wondrous works.

A friend of mine wrote a book entitled “The Ambassador’s Handbook” with Psalm 26:7 on the cover. The book dealt with a very in depth look from a scriptural perspective on sharing the gospel, its essentials, man and the essentials of what and how to share.

Today, it is with great joy that I am publically announcing a ministry, The Milwaukee Seedsowers, with the intent of proclaiming or publishing the gospel with the voice of thanksgiving, to tell of all of the wondrous works of the LORD.

Why care to share?

Our world is increasing in darkness and evil. You can see it in the utterings of men, in the media, in the marketplace, in the place where we work, in homes and yes, even in houses that are supposed to be set aside for worship. It’s really an “all about me” mentality.

In 2005 I wrote to a pastor friend of mine:

“in light of the recent beatings, killings and other crimes, sins that happen every day in our metroplex, could God raise up an army prepared to do battle?

I believe God has laid on my heart a vision of partnering with other Biblically based churches in our area, with the pastors and congregants, to go door to door, two by two, to every house, to every person we meet on the streets, and give them the gospel, to ask and pray right there for their needs and invite them in. No house or person should be unvisited. The entire city and surrounding area will hear the gospel.

I believe that a good pattern to follow is the one used by Ray Comfort’s www.livingwaters.com ministry because it’s a simple method of using the 10 commandments to show people where they stand in God’s eye’s and then show them what God did to atone and provide redemption. Please, could we pray about it?”

I wish that I could say that I at that very moment dropped everything and dedicated all my to serve the Lord and proclaim His goodness but in reality it’s been quite the journey since then with both triumphs and trials but always with the mind of moving forward, gaining ground and not surrendering.

The Mission

Our mission is two-fold, to share the gospel (Matthew 28:16-20, Mark 16:14-18, Luke 26:46-49, John 21:21-22) pointing all men to Jesus and to equip other believers (Ephesians 4:11-16, 2 Timothy 3:16-17) to share that gospel. The very same gospel that was preached by Jesus (Mark 1:15), the apostles (Acts 8:25) and all true believers (Romans 10:14, 15) for the last 2000 + years.

The first is important because have been given the gift of eternal life (John 6:40; 1 John 2:25; Titus 3:4-7) and we wish others to have the same gift (John 17:3). That is the heart of God (1 Tim 2:4). Man can only have this new birth after hearing the gospel. (Rom 1:16; Rom 10:17; 1 Peter 1:23, 25; Eph 1:13)

The second is just as important because the gospel was the only message that was given to church to help it grow (Acts 2:40-45). I believe along with many other likeminded believers that this work, (Rom 10:14) has been very neglected by most of the organized institutional church.

How Will this Be Accomplished?

Obviously without the Lord’s hand upon this work (John 14:26; Act 1:26; Acts 9:31), we won’t be able to do a thing. So it is with much fervent prayer that we seek His guidance and direction that we embark upon this ministry.

It is our intent to grow believers to get over the fear of sharing and to go door to door, or wherever a person walk (Luke 10:1, 17), to events and even do open air preaching in the public market place (Acts 17), to proclaim the glorious Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you

As you consider your role in proclaiming and preaching the Gospel, a role that we believe has been commissioned to every believer, we hope that you will consider joining us for future outreach events and sit in with us on future training sessions to get further equipped.

Thank you and May the LORD bless your work.

The Milwaukee Seedsowers.

Oswald J. Smith said, “Oh my friends, we are loaded down with countless church activities, while the real work of the Church, that of evangelizing and winning the lost, is almost entirely neglected.”

We have polished the engines of worship, prayer, and praise and neglected the sober task given to us by God. A firefighter who ignores his responsibilities and allows people to perish in the flames is not a firefighter; he is an impostor. How could we ignore our responsibility and allow the world to walk blindly into the fires of hell? If God’s love dwells within us, we must warn the lost. The Bible tells us to “have compassion…save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh” (Jude 22,23). If we don’t have love and compassion, then we don’t know God—we are impostors (see 1 John 4:8).

Charles Spurgeon felt so strongly about evangelism that he said, “Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you are not saved yourself. Be sure of that.” Although evangelism is not required to be saved it may reflect your knowledge and concern over others spending eternity in eternal torment.

Each of us should examine ourselves in light of these sobering thoughts (2 Corinthians 13:5) so that we won’t be part of the great multitude who called Jesus “Lord,” but refused to obey Him. It will be professing believers who will hear those fearful words, “I never knew you: depart from me” (Matthew 7:21–23).

A Wrong Number That Turned Into A Witnessing Encounter

A Wrong Number That Turned Into A Witnessing Encounter

I woke up one morning a little later than I normally do and noticed that I had a missed call on my cell phone from a number that I didn’t recognize.

Curiosity got the best of me and I called the number back @ 11 am and got the person’s voicemail, which was full and an impersonal message with no name. Around 3:30 pm I got a return phone call from a person who identified herself as Daphne.

We struck up a conversation and I asked Daphne who she was trying to call that early in the morning. She admitted to me that she was a bartender who had been working and was drunk at the time and thought she was calling her brother but mis-dialed the number.

Now when I talked with Daphne she still sounded as though she was feeling no pain and I asked her about it. She opened up about her life and things that she was going through.

Things such as being abused during her childhood by her parents and by the nuns where she went to school. By an abusive husband. Daphne really felt as though life dealt her a tough hand. On top of that, Daphne is dealing with cancer.

During our conversation, I asked Daphne what she thought would happen to her when she dies and her response was that she felt that she would go to heaven. I asked her why she thought that and based on that fact that she is caring for her abusive mother and other things, she stated that she was a pretty good person.

I had the opportunity to walk through the 10 commandments with her and shared with her what God’s definition of good truly is.

I asked her that if God judges you based on that standard, would He send her to Heaven or Hell? Daphne didn’t believe that her God would send her to hell. I told her that was a form of idolatry and that she had made up a god that she was comfortable with. The reality is that all law breakers will not enter into God’s kingdom.

Despite the fact that she was using some colorful language, I asked her why she thought that Jesus came? I shared with her the good news that He came to live life keeping the law of God perfectly that we are incapable of and that he took our place, and taking the punishment and death sentence that we deserve. That He died and resurrected for us that we may live.

I was also able to share with Daphne that we must all repent and put our trust in Christ and we will have eternal life. It’s then that we will begin a new life in God’s kingdom.
I closed our conversation by point her to scripture, Genesis 1-11 which tells us why this world is in the state that it is and then to the Gospel of John which is God’s answer to the mess. I also have been praying for Daphne.

Daphne reminds me of the story of a little boy who was running through some woods. He suddenly tripped over a log and cut his jugular vein on a stick. His father quickly picked him up and held his finger tightly on the vein to stop the blood flow as they rushed the child to a hospital.

As they entered the operating room, the distressed child held out his thumb to the surgeon. When he had fallen, a splinter of wood had entered his thumb. Of course the good doctor ignored the boy’s plea to remove the splinter, and immediately set to work on stopping the blood flow from his jugular vein.

We expect God to immediately fix what we consider the most serious wound, when God wants to first deal with the “sin” issue—that which will be the death and eternal damnation of us. So, if we as Christians care about the will of God and the eternal welfare of the person to whom we are speaking, we will go for the jugular; we will speak about the sin issue.
